In spring, the tree carries its first new leaves. The sky holds a last trace of dusk, a deep amber that mirrors the warmth of the light below. There is something hopeful about this image, a quiet beginning after months of cold.

Schoorl 01: Spring is part of the Four Seasons open edition. Four photographs of the same crippled oak, captured across all four seasons of a single year in the Schoorl Dunes Nature Reserve in the North of the Netherlands.
