Night Canopy

A group of ancient crippled oaks spreads across the dune ridge, their branches reaching outward rather than upward. Shaped by wind, time and the particular logic of survival in sandy soil, every gnarled limb reaches out against the darkness. The scene has the stillness of a painting, yet it is entirely real.
